Guava Rose Mocktail

Having something beautiful to drink is a treat. I wish more event planners and hosts would also think about serving a mocktail or equally appetizing alternative to alcohol. There’s so many people out there who are clueing in to the feeling that alcohol just doesn’t make them feel their best selves. And yet, at a dinner or party, it feels weird to turn down a drink, like you are intentionally standing out. Having beautiful options can go a long way in making people feel more comfortable and included—alcohol isn’t the only ticket.

Try this Guava Rose mocktail for your next dinner or party. It’s perfect for baby showers too.

This drink is made fragrant with tea. I used Herbal Republic’s Tokyo Rose, a green tea flavored with rose and cherry. It is the most delicious smelling tea. And hello healthy. Mocktails made with tea are such a exciting and healthy spin on drinks. Beautiful and fun—minus hangovers, minus regrets, minus mental fog.

Recipe:

3 oz rose green tea, steeped

3 oz of guava nectar

1.5 tablespoons rose water

1 tablespoon simple syrup

1/2 teaspoon grenadine, for color

Hefty splash of sparking water

Add rose green tea, guava nectar, rose water, simple syrup, and grenadine in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake it up! Pour into a glass. It’s going to be sweet, so dilute it with one third to a half parts sparkling water.

Fast simple syrup recipe:

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon water

Combine water and sugar in a mug and microwave together for thirty seconds.
