If you think about it, drinking again in February is kind of like texting your toxic ex at 2 am after you started dating a really good guy.

Trust me, I’ve been there. I understand the weirdly tempting allure of alcohol and the fear of committing beyond Dry January… But why not keep dating this alcohol-free life for another month, and see how it goes?

In this episode, I’ll share some stories from my first year being alcohol-free, the red flags I couldn’t ignore, and how I debunked the subconscious beliefs that made alcohol alluring, making way for the most intense freedom I ever felt.

IN THIS EPISODE:

  • My own roller coaster stories about drinking again after my first Dry January (it wasn’t the fun reunion I expected)

  • The realization I had on February 24 that changed my life forever

  • The mindset shift you need to continue instead of obsessing over the idea of “forever”

  • How to cultivate an unshakeable WHY to make living alcohol-free the most fulfilling life you’re meant for

  • Why drinking after a break actually makes you feel worse

REFLECTION QUESTION

Visualize the you who thrives without drinking. How do you feel, act, and interact with the world? What would you be able to pursue or achieve without the weight of alcohol holding you back?

“If you go back to drinking in February, it's not the end of the world. But I don't want you to just go back to the way things were. I want you to ruthlessly excavate the experience and actually ask yourself, did drinking give me what I thought it would? Did it make me feel the jolly grand good time that I expected? Did it make me feel more relaxed? Did it make me feel more confident? Or is it actually kind of sucking at meeting my needs?” - Karolina

“And it just hit me. I've been there, I've done that. I know what this experience is like. But another thought hit me in that moment. What I don't know is what's going to happen if I keep moving forward without alcohol. That is the part of me that I have no idea. I know what I feel like as a drinker. I have no idea what I'm capable of without alcohol in my life. I don't want to say goodbye to these feelings of awe and wonder and gratitude and joy. I want to keep going.” - Karolina
