In this episode of Euphoric The Podcast, Karolina and Danielle explore what it means to rebel against limiting beliefs, find joy, and live with spontaneity. Sharing their personal experiences, this episode will inspire you to trust your intuition and lean into true moments of joy.

Put your feet in the grass, take that trip to the city, and learn how to reclaim your worth with a joy-filled, alcohol-free life.

Shifting from self-destructive impulsivity to joy-filled spontaneity.

Have you ever had a few glasses of wine and impulsively shopped on Amazon, only to regret it when all the boxes arrived? Maybe you go to the mall each week to purchase a new fast-fashion outfit to wear while you’re out drinking, rather than finding the one item that you love. These often impulsive actions tend to be self-destructive.

Do you prevent yourself from enjoyment throughout the day, only to use drinking as an excuse to indulge in things you ultimately regret?

In The Sober Lush by Amanda Ward and Jardine Libaire, they share a new way of approaching life. Alcohol is an easy way to numb out, but when you choose an alcohol-free lifestyle, you can choose to fully experience and enjoy the simple pleasures life offers. Maybe it’s buying that fragrance you love and wearing it everyday. Maybe you love a fancy brand of crackers and you make a charcuterie board for yourself. For Danielle, it was allowing herself to experience the sensation of a 50 foot waterfall; walking into that freezing cold water and having a grounding experience that created a lasting memory.

What spontaneous joys can you fill your life with?

Rebelling against your own limiting beliefs.

It is very easy to make excuses to not care for yourself. Simple things like buying a jacket that feels soothing or drawing a warm bath in the evening, can quickly become sabotaged by unsupportive belief systems.

“I don’t deserve that.”

“That’s too expensive.”

“I’m being too self-indulgent.”

Often these internal dialogues can prevent true moments of joy.

When you ask yourself the reason behind your actions, it will reveal belief systems or stories that you no longer want in your life. This is where the magic happens. Becoming aware of these narratives creates space for you to rebel against negative conversations and instead claim real joy. By challenging your inner critic and coming off of autopilot, you will begin hearing your intuition in a new way.

In Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way, she challenges you to connect with yourself in a deeper way. This could be buying a warm pair of socks or burning a candle you love instead of waiting for a special occasion. When you choose to care for yourself in this way you begin reclaiming your worth and value. You will also find yourself empowered to ask, “What else can I go after? What else is possible?”

As you break your own rules, rebelling against self-imposed limits, you will have the confidence to live a full and abundant life.

Reframing urgency to tune in with yourself.

Are you constantly focused on deadlines? Are you living in a mindset of putting out fires? When you become distracted by day to day obligations, you become out of touch with the present moment.

Tara Shuster talks about the importance of being kind to yourself in her book Buy Yourself The F*cking Lilies. Taking the time to ground and be present with yourself through meditation, journaling, and exercise are ways to recenter and listen to what you really need.

What would life look like if you slowed down, stepped away from the heaviness of life, and took time for true self-care? What would your experience of life be if you embraced each moment in a fully present way?

Maybe you’ve always wanted to take a solo day trip to the city or rent a cabin in the woods, but the details and obligations prevented you from doing so. Denying yourself of these life-giving experiences will likely lead to bitterness, anger, envy, and frustration.

You may be surprised at what becomes possible when you step away from the self-imposed urgency of life to tune in with yourself. Spending a day in the city or renting that cabin will ultimately result in more abundance and creativity in your life than you imagined. It will fuel your soul.

“Your wellbeing makes you the most effective person on this planet.”
