Episode 295: Top Sober Podcast Host Casey Davidson on How She Built It
How do you go from corporate burnout and nightly wine to hosting one of the top sober podcasts in the world?
Casey Davidson is one of the biggest names in the alcohol-free community. After a ‘just take a break’ experiment from drinking during her Fortune 500 career, she discovered a new calling – one that grew into a thriving coaching business that inspires thousands of high-achieving women every day, AND the chart-topping Hello Someday podcast.
This is a joint episode, so you’ll hear us both share how our alcohol-free journeys accelerated our careers into this beautiful industry, opening the door to more passion, meaning, and fulfillment in our careers and lives.
We talk about what it really takes to build a podcast brand from scratch, the surprising fears she had to overcome (yes, even worrying if life coaching was “a real job”), and why quitting alcohol is a process of “unbecoming”, unlocking courage, clarity, and fulfillment you didn’t even know you were missing.
So many people think of life coaching as a pipe dream, but if you’ve ever thought ‘maybe there’s more for me than this,’ it’s time to find out.

REFLECTION QUESTION
In this episode, Casey asks: at the end of your life, what do you want people to say about you? What core values are evident in your answer?
“At the end of your life, what do you want people to say about you? Because I sort of looked at that and I was like, if people say, wow, she was a great VP of marketing and never let anyone down and was always there for every deadline, I would be like, damn, I fucked up. I did something wrong. I wanted to see the world and have adventures and be there for my kids and have them come home from college and want to talk with me. That was just out of alignment with me being on the road for a week every month or not being able to stand at the bus stop in the mornings. Someone else could choose a different priority, and that's okay. But I think when we're drinking, we're so out of alignment with what we care about, we can end up really far off course.” - Casey Davidson
“I love this quote and I used to have it up in my office. Maybe the journey is not about becoming anything. Maybe the journey is about unbecoming everything that was never really you. So you can be who you were meant to be in the first place. A lot of times we drink because we're trying to fit ourselves like a square peg in a round hole. We're trying to be who we think we are supposed to be or who. What someone else told us we were supposed to be. And drinking because that makes it easier.” - Casey Davidson
