Butterfly Blue Hawaiian Mocktail
My mocktail game is strong because I love trying new ingredients and combinations. My husband and his friends are really into Tiki culture, and there are so many fun ways to go Tiki without any hangovers. Skip the rum and proccessed Curacao and try a natural tea for your next Tiki mocktail.
You guys, this butterfly tea is crazy. Steeped in water, it turns into this midnight blue color that I knew would be perfect for a “blue hawaiian.” And once I added pineapple juice? It turned a little purple. How fun. Butterfly tea is made with butterfly pea flowers, a plant from Southeast Asia known for it’s antioxidants and anti-aging effects.
No hangovers plus healthy fun Tiki drinks? Yes please. Make the recipe at your next summer party.
Recipe:
3 oz pineapple juice
1 oz coconut cream
6 oz butterfly tea, steeped and cooled
Cherries, pineapple slices or orange slices for garnish
Add all the liquid ingredients together in a cocktail shaker and shake it up! Pour into a glass with ice and top with garnishes or a tropical umbrella to make it fancy.
I got this butterfly tea blend from Teami, a tea shop that makes blends with teas, herbs and natural ingredients to make effective health and wellness solutions.
