Expanding your infinite self is an adventure of self discovery. In this episode of Euphoric the Podcast, Karolina is joined by Helena Grant as she shares her alcohol-free journey. By letting go of society’s rules around alcohol and reclaiming what truth was for her, she discovered a life of flourishing possibility.

Helena is a transformational life coach specializing in visionary entrepreneurs and healers. A certified yoga instructor, mother, wife, athlete, and writer, Helena describes herself as a multi-dimensional human.

As she shares her story of living alcohol-free, Helena explains the physical healing and spiritual awakening that she experienced. She chose to step away from alcohol and stepped into a life of healing, possibility, and deep connection.

Let go of cultural norms to heal yourself.

Helena shares her journey of shifting away from old narratives around alcohol to find healing for herself. Throughout her twenties, she viewed drinking through a black and white lens: one either drank or was an alcoholic. She conformed to cultural norms as a way of fitting in and preventing uncomfortable situations at the expense of her physical, mental, and emotional health. As this was happening, she also became aware of the physical and emotional toll it was having on her, and realized something needed to change.

Every society comes with cultural norms, and as humans we crave connection and acceptance, but at what cost? At what point does adapting to environmental expectations interfere with our connection to self? As Helena explains in the show, her turning point was realizing that living within these expectations meant she wasn’t living.

By letting go of old narratives, belief systems, and cultural norms, you can step into a deeper sense of joy, possibility, and connection to yourself. It’s not about forcing others to live the same way, but about choosing the best path for yourself and the life you want to be living.

When alcohol is no longer a placeholder, your life will blossom.

Alcohol, among many things, can become a mask - a way of avoiding self, responsibility, failure, and more. When we remove the mask from our lives, we begin unlocking a deeper connection to who we are and what we are capable of.

When you lead an alcohol-free lifestyle, infinite possibilities will open up in your life. You’ll live a life of integrity that’s in alignment with your values, dreams, and what matters to you. Helena explains the empowerment and spiritual connection that blossomed as she chose an alcohol-free life. By letting go of alcohol as a placeholder, she became empowered, living a rich and full life with herself, her family, and her work.

Learning to love yourself will lead to loving others.

There is tremendous value and importance around self-love. When we are able to forgive ourselves and others, release old stories and belief systems that no longer serve us, and step into compassion and curiosity, we become connected to ourselves in a new way.

Often what we fear, we in some way desire. Is there something you can think of that you’d love to change, do, or act on, but the thought of it terrifies you?

Learning to change perspectives on that fear leads to a different relationship with our desires, resulting in our own growth. As we change, heal, and love ourselves, we increase our bandwidth for deeper love, connection, and compassion with others. We become emboldened to see them flourish as well.

“I think that if everyone had profound self love, it would eliminate so many of the issues in our world.”
