REFLECTION QUESTION:

Take a moment and imagine your best future self. What do you look like? What do you spend time doing? What are your values, and what have you accomplished?

“When I came out of prison, nobody messaged me or missed me – anybody I used to party with, or anything like that. It really brought to light that that version of Jay was not missed. So during this healing process of, one, spending six months by myself, the first six months of my sobriety, and two, realizing that nobody missed that version of me, of who I was when I thought I was living my best life, when I was making all these decisions and being the party animal – it sprung me into motivating myself to create somebody that somebody did miss.” - Jay Chase

“I truly believe that there's four reasons why people change. One, they hurt enough that they have to; they see enough that they're inspired to; they learn enough that they choose to; or they receive enough that they're able to. The first reason I had to change early in my sobriety is because I was hurt enough. I hurt enough that I had to change. I couldn't get out of jail. And then I saw enough – when I was inspired to change by nobody missing that version of me. And that there is somebody else that I could be. So I ran after that.”  - Jay Chase
