Episode 259: Systems Saved Her Sanity with Marci Rossi

This episode is for my entrepreneurial girlies who want to get their shit together, embody that Capricorn energy, and create more organization and automation in their businesses.

Today’s guest, Marci Rossi, is an alcohol-free coach and systems QUEEN. Marci used to drive herself crazy trying to do everything herself in her business until finally, she recognized the value in creating systems that involve delegation and automation, consequently increasing the speed and ease of tasks so she could spend more time actually working with clients.

Usually marketing takes center stage when it comes to launching and growing a business and the backend doesn’t get talked about, but getting these systems down early can make an enormous difference in the speed with which your business grows.

Our conversation will be interesting to anyone looking to start a business or make life a little easier. We talk about the best online tools, how to outsource cumbersome tasks, and how to create systems that not only align with long-term strategies but also liberate you from the grind.

IN THIS EPISODE:

  • Marci’s background in auditing, family law, and libraries, and the realization she had after going alcohol-free: that she was meant to be an entrepreneur

  • The powerful mantra that "systems equal freedom" and how it can liberate entrepreneurs from the never-ending cycle of managing every detail manually

  • Tools Marci loves, including System IO and ClickUp, and how they can revolutionize business efficiency

  • Why messy action trumps perfectionism, helping entrepreneurs forge ahead despite fears of imperfection, and take their business to the next level

  • The value in letting go of doing everything ourselves and allowing others (or automation tools) to help so that we can spend more time actually working on sales and services

REFLECTION QUESTION:

What are the tasks in your business or personal life that you find most cumbersome and time-consuming? How could outsourcing these tasks improve your efficiency and overall well-being?

“It wasn't really until I stepped back from alcohol and stopped using it to keep myself playing small that I was able to dream of what it would look like if I were going to build something with my own hands. And I love getting my hands dirty. From there, I didn't actually know that coaching was a thing outside the sports world. I didn't realize that people had coaches. Because I actually used a coaching program to let go of alcohol myself, I realized how transformational it was. So my journey into this entrepreneurship actually started with alcohol-free coaching. It was really important to me. I think that being alcohol free is like the ultimate competitive advantage in business.” - Marci Rossi

“It's easy to get trapped in there because we want to have our signature or we want the pride that comes with doing it ourselves. But on the other hand, it's holding us back from the steps that only we can do. Like, my coaching business is not going to take off if I have a really pretty website and a great business card but I'm not actually coaching. I need to be doing the thing that I am in business for.” - Marci Rossi
